In a team of 11 total Teaching Assistants, I worked in an innovative Team-Based-Learning classroom environment where students worked in teams to solve problems as a group. In this environment, the role of a Teaching Assistant is to support the learning experience of students by giving them support as they ask for it.

The Physics-Help-Room is an on-campus resource designed to support students who are struggling in their Physics courses by providing a space regularly staffed by a talented group of Physics Tutors and Teaching Assistants. I hosted as many as 15 office hours per week in this space.

Thanks to the funding provided by the Department of Health and Safety I was given the opportunity to work at the Awareness and Localization of Explosive Related Threats (or ALERT) Center of Excellence as one of five students in the ALERT REU Program. Working in the Electrical Engineering lab of Professor Carey Rappaport, I assisted in the experimental.

I took part in the Bridge to Calculus program, a partnership between Boston Public Schools and Northeastern University to give students a head start before moving on to their calculus courses in high school. As a student mentor, I took a particularly advanced group of students aside and designed their homework, classwork, and exams to prepare them to move.

In the Experimental Biophysics Lab of Professor Jennifer Ross I was responsible for creating a pipeline for analyzing the orientations present within images of microtubule filaments. The end result of this work was a piece of code, written using ImageJ's macro language, which analyzed images of the filaments and returned a histogram of the orientations.

Working closely with Corporate Audit Staff and as a part of the Audit Analytics team, I developed an algorithm in Python to identify financial anomalies for the staff. The algorithm relied on the Natural Language Toolkit and CLiPS's pattern.vector module.
