Set and implemented the strategic direction for all Senior Living health care operations in multiple states, including CCRCs, skilled nursing facilities, independent living, assisted living and memory care communities, free standing adult day care facilities, residential waiver programs, transportation fleet services, rehabilitation services, and home and community-based services including service coordination, care management and multiple MCR certified home health care and hospice agencies. Responsible for the development of payor/risk strategies, population health programs, overall growth and occupancy, regulatory compliance, sales and marketing, mergers/acquisitions, and the design, planning and construction of new health care facilities and technologies in all markets. Oversaw a total workforce of >1,600 employees.

CareSource is one of the largest MCD HMOs in the U.S., serving 1.8 million members in multiple states. Responsible for the enterprise vision and oversight of complex, integrated, LTSS, and HCBS/home health care product lines within CareSource suite of services. Leads the design and execution of clinical/operational models and systems, sales, finance/savings initiatives, ACR/MCR and payor strategies, quality programs, mergers and acquisitions, and value-based reimbursement/delivery system reform projects to improve the effectiveness, profitability, and sustainability of products and services. Serves as primary liaison to national and state governments, stakeholders, regulators, and thought leaders for Integrated, acute/complex, and MLTSS product lines. Executive and operational ownership of multi-state product lines including Ohio MMP (Medicare/Medicaid Plans), Medicare Advantage, Marketplace, 1915c HCBS Waivers, and home health care operations. Products exceeded $1B in annual revenue.

Development, implementation and ongoing oversight of business, operational, and clinical strategies for Integrated Care Delivery Systems serving complex, LTSS and MCR/MCD (dual) eligible participants. Responsible for CareSource Integrated Care and LTSS product development, including development of clinical strategy, operations/operational workflows, infrastructure and network development, marketing, systems, profit and loss, quality, personnel oversight, and incorporation of integrated health programs within CareSource’s suite of services. CareStar provides HCBS case management services, clinical systems, and learning technology platforms to governments and health systems in multiple states. Under contract with the Department of Medicaid, oversaw provision of 1915c HCBS Waiver care management services to >12,000 waiver recipients in Ohio and Indiana. Provided leadership of all operational divisions of the company. Promoted four times within seven-year tenure. Directed all multi-state ventures including: Clinical and Utilization/Case Management Services, Government and commercial contracts, Transitional Services, MFP/HOME Choice and Community Living Services, Provider Oversight/Credentialing, Web-based and Online Learning Products, Community Outreach Programs, and PR/Marketing divisions. Direct supervision of Clinical and Operational Directors in several states. Coordinated with Administrative Services in the development and implementation of annual budgets, staffing and profitability models, technology initiatives and innovation (e.g. systemic conversion to EMR), and P&L/financial modeling and forecasting. Evaluated ongoing enterprise performance against established operating plans and strategic goals. Represented the company in the community, with major customers, government agencies, shareholders, and the public.

Achieved Medicare, Medicaid, Passport and commercial plan certifications within 8 months of start-up. Responsible for the creation and implementation of all clinical and administrative policies and procedures for home health, hospice, and 1915c community waiver programs. Lead business development activities including sales, marketing and revenue cycle generation. As Director of Nursing, provided clinical oversight of all direct patient care and case management, as well as staff development and training/skills competency testing for all licensed and non-licensed staff. Administered QI, QA, compliance, Utilization Review and overall regulatory compliance programs for all service lines.
