I currently work as a chemist testing a variety of samples and performing some research for applications in the natural gas industry. I provide analytics on aqueous, solid, and gaseous samples including metals, anions, organic assays, some bacterial analyses, mineral composition, and basic environmental testing such as total dissolved solids and chemical oxygen demand. I work with a number of different instruments including an ICP-OES, XRD, spectrometers, turbidimeters, an ion chromatograph, gas chromatographs, auto-titrators, and other lab peripherals and glassware. In addition to my testing responsibilities I also help design reports and regularly compile and analyze data before generating a report to be sent. I maintain working conditions of our instruments, and more broadly I am responsible for the timely execution of analyses and their reporting. I also supervise the work of a technician that assists me with analyses and laboratory upkeep.

Using a variety of EPA and Standard methods, I worked as part of a team to test various industries for air, water, and soil pollutants in accordance to their federal and state permits. I have worked in the field conducting air emission testing, soil and silt loading testing, and water sampling. In the lab I have tested water, soil, particulate matter, fecal, and oil/grease samples. I have worked with a number of instruments including turbidimeters, spectrometers, and an ICP-MS as well as performed numerous wet chemistry tasks. I have generated Discharge Monitoring Reports with the help of a based Laboratory Information and Management System and have written stack test reports for submittal to Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality. I have been MSHA and OSHA certified, man-lift/scissor-lift trained, hazardous materials shipment trained, First-Aid/CPR AED certified, and HAZWOPER trained.
