I am a weekend news anchor and multimedia journalist with 23 News (WIFR) in Rockford, Illinois.Since I started there in May 2021, I've reported on or assisted with our team's coverage of stories that made headlines outside of the Rockford region. This includes President Joe Biden's visit to Belvidere, a stolen funeral van from Rockford with a body inside, the Chemtool Plant explosion in Rockton, and the Apollo Theatre roof collapse in Belvidere following a tornado.As an anchor, I produce our 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts on Saturdays. I'll stack the show, write stories, revise reporter stories, and edit videos. I'm also in charge of updating our social media pages and recording an Alexa Update.As an MMJ, I shoot, write, track, and edit my own stories so I can meet my deadlines. Typically, I write and edit VO/SOTs and PKGs for the 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. shows.
