I led the WWF advocacy team that secured Rishi Sunak’s COP26 commitment the UK will become the first ever ‘Net Zero Aligned Financial Centre’ via targeted coalition advocacy. As part of this I was responsible for delivering an impactful FTSE100 scorecard on net zero transition plans (Turning Blue Chips Green). In addition, I secured the support of FTSE100 companies on a business letter to the Chancellor.

I researched and co-wrote The Economics of oil development in the Arctic Refuge, Alaska resulting in the only oil company that had a lease in the Arctic Refuge to leave. I led the WWF Arctic Programme’s engagement on the Polar Code review at the International Maritime Organisation and developed the WWF Arctic Programme’s advocacy strategy on oil & gas and shipping.

I developed the successful Donaña National Park strategy with WWF-Spain and led WWF’s Selous Game Reserve flagship campaign. Developed campaign strategy and delivered research, engaged country ambassadors, led media trips, created interventions at the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. I directed international support from WWF network offices (Africa, China, Germany, Sweden, Norway, US, and UK), and other international NGOs. I designed the advocacy strategy resulting in the International Hydropower Association’s commitment to stay out of World Heritage Sites.

Successfully led WWF-UK’s Virunga campaign against an oil company entering a World Heritage Site. Engaged directly with the oil company’s directors. It was an integrated campaign across WWF-UK that including fundraising. Matrix working with WWF-International. Delivered briefings to FCO contacts, institutional investors and the media. Resulted in the oil company, SOCO Intl committing not only to stay out of Virunga but all World Heritage Sites.
