As a Crew Chief, my duties require me to:-Perform general maintenance on aircraft -Perform regular inspections on aircraft ensuring the aircraft remain in a safe for flight status. This means ensuring I pay close attention to large and small details and discrepancies alike and performing my duties with integrity and excellence at all times. Finally, I must ensure I maintain a high level of situational awareness to protect myself and others around moving aircraft with running engines.

Westville Correctional Facility

In my time as a Correctional Officer, I held several different positions. In my first year, I: -Ran a disciplinary dormitory housing mostly idle offenders. I was responsible for the safety and security of the dormitory. Also, within my first year: -Trained to become Quick Response Team qualified, meaning I was a first responder in the event of any emergency (fights, medical, officer assaults, disturbances). -Obtained certification in the use of a handgun, shotgun and rifle and became a trip officer. Trip officers are responsible for escorting offenders off of state property for various reasons (hospital, doctor apt, facility transfers). Following this:-Gained experience in the release process and policies and worked as a release officer.-Obtained Field Training Officer Certification. -Accepted a position on the Disciplinary Hearing Board (DHB). As a member of DHB, I:-Was responsible for conducting disciplinary screenings and hearings, determining guilt and sanctioning offenders for misconduct and calculating earned credit time. This position gave me a great deal of experience in report writing and the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Finally, my position as a disciplinary review officer exposed me to the inner workings and interpretation of state law.
