I commenced as a Senior Business Services Manager with Rothsay after the merger of Precipio Chartered Accountants. My role has included:• Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, and discretionary trusts (including family trusts).• Provision of accounting, taxation and business advice for clients for small business, high net worth individuals, Australian subsidiaries of foreign companies and ASX listed entities.

I was recruited as the Chief Financial Officer by the then CEO in 2006 to assist the company in the transition from a research and development company into a manufacturer of RFID systems, having previously provided audit and taxation services to the company in my previous Chartered roles. Responsibilities included:• Responsibility for the management of the day to day financial requirements of the company including receivables, payables, payroll, cash flow management, production costing, pricing, logistics and production scheduling, foreign currency exposure and Human Resources.• Weekly, monthly management reporting and quarterly board reporting.• Quarterly reporting to one shareholder• Prepare the annual budget and 5 year plan and the presentation of same to the board of Directors.• Worked closely with the CEO and other senior management to plot the strategic direction of the company.• Attend all Board Meetings as CFO and present to the Board of Directors regularly on financial matters pertinent to the company.• Annual financial reporting and management of the company's income tax obligations in two jurisdictions. • Managed the implementation of the company's ERP system, and introduced and enforced the company's system of internal controls• Provision of support and project pricing to our sales team, and assist in price negotiation for the majority of large customer orders.• Manage the relationships with the company’s major suppliers including negotiation pricing and trading terms.• Joint Company Secretary.• Assist with the development of the company's intellectual property strategy. • Assisted with capital raising and performance of due diligence on potential acquisitions.

My role was encompassed both Audit and Business service/Tax. Responsibilities included • Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for companies, partnerships, discretionary trusts, unit trusts, superannuation funds and individuals.• Managing audits and/or 6 monthly reviews for a listed public company, Australian subsidiaries of foreign owned companies, large Australian private companies and not-for-profit entities.• Managed the group’s tax lodgement program. • Carried out a fraud investigation on behalf of a client and prepared a report submitted to the Australian Taxation Office and the Australian Crime Commission. • Provided detailed accounting and taxation advice to various clients including a listed public company in areas such as the taxation and accounting implications of Employee Share Schemes, various issues relating to the implementation of A-IFRS, taxation and accounting treatment of goodwill, etc. • Assisted a client with the due diligence on an acquisition valued at $115 million, including writing a report for submission to the board of directors of the client, and assisting in the due diligence on the contents of the contract. • Assisted a client with the accounting and taxation matters surrounding the integration of acquisition valued at $123 million.• Managed 8 staff.

My role comprised audit, taxation and GST advice, annual compliance work and advising on and implementing effective structures, both in terms of taxation and asset protection. I managed on behalf of one client a major tax audit covering 5 companies over 7 years, and was able to save the client several million dollars in tax.

My responsibilities encompassed managing the day to day operations of the Finance Department including preparation of weekly and monthly management reports, GST compliance, maintenance of the accounting system and GL, advice across all lines of business on financial and legal matters and management of 8 staff. My major accomplishments were instituting more effective and meaningful management reporting as well as a job costing system to assist management in controlling costs, managing resources and pricing.

Travel Industries Automated Systems Pty Ltd held the licences to the two major providers of computer reservations systems for the airline industry in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. The company was then owned by Qantas, Ansett Airlines and Air New Zealand. The company had 6 operating subsidiaries and turned over $170m. Responsibilities included * Supervision of accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury and oversight of payroll for the group. * Preparation of group annual statutory accounts including managing the relationship with the external auditors, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. * Preparation of monthly management accounts and Board Report including consolidating group results. * Joint systems administrator of the group Accounting system, * Provide advice and support to the Group Company Secretary and performing the company Secretary functions of a number of subsidiaries. * Provided financial and management advice to the General Manager of one of the subsidiaries.
