I lead the technical vision for all the software development efforts in the Business Applications and Operations team at Carnegie Mellon. My duties involve:- Providing a long-term vision on how we evolve our applications and technology stack.- Providing architectural guidance to the domain technical leads of each software application.- Serving as the software architect and lead engineer of our largest application, the S3 Student Information System software suite at Carnegie Mellon. In this role, I directly oversee the implementation of the long-term vision for the S3 applications, as well as implementing some of the more challenging software components.

Senior engineer in a large-scale project to transition the current enrollment systems software used by the university from legacy technologies to a modern Java web-based stack based on Spring, iBatis and GWT.Aside from implementing several new features in our product, I have been instrumental in streamlining our development process by introducing new techniques and technologies that improve developer productivity, reducing the time to deliver features to our users. - I introduced the use of Groovy for scripting and unit and behavioral tests, leading to more and better tests.- I have added a REPL to our Spring-based applications, allowing developers to use a more agile REPL-driven development as well as pinpointing the cause of hard-to-debug problems.- I backported the MyBatis 3 mapper feature to iBatis 2, providing our developers with the auto-generation of boiler-plate database access classes.

I led the implementation of a wide array of features for new client deployments, and was responsible for major additions to the Wellspring Framework, an in-house PHP web framework comparable to RoR or Django with a focus on extensibility and componetization. Lead developer of a new chemical formula management system for a major Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company. This new system enables tracking of the testing process for their various chemical formulas, ensuring that proper testing is done, and testing results can be leveraged across similar products.Lead developer for Wellspring's Zeto product. Zeto's innovative distributed data management system enables Web 2.0 database-driven applications to seamlessly transition between offline and online states. Zeto automagically takes care of data synchronization between client and server computers, while ensuring data consistency.

Developed 3D virtualized reality software to reconstruct a virtual scene based on a set of camera inputs. The image input was superimposed on the 3D model to reproduce the real-world objects captured by the images.

Developed imaging software to train military personnel to detect targets in satellite IR images. The software used advanced imaging techniques to help the user filter out noise out of the images and highlight the targets.
