As a member of the Redshift Aqua team my primary responsibility is for control plane in-service work flow and hardware monitoring software. AQUA is a new distributed and hardware-accelerated cache that enables Redshift to run much faster. This is powered but Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) with SSD arrays attached. Specific accomplishments include:- Develop and maintain the system to load the images on the FPGA cards.- Develop a series of step function to bring the EC2 instance containing the FPGA hardware into service.- Developed a monitoring application that emits metrics about the FPGA cards into AWS Cloudwatch. Metrics include temperature, voltage, memory faults and other relevant statistic.

As architect and lead developer for a team involved in applications for the process control industry. These applications were used by various other divisions and sold to clients along with large construction projects for the power industry including oil, gas, hydro electric and nuclear. Applications included a real-time process simulator, scheduler, process-control systems and data acquisition. Additionally I developed a graphical schema editor as an OpenGL graphics engine utilizing an OLE for Process Control client that receives data from external servers for display.
