I oversee and manage the day-to-day logistical and team operations of a 9-employee small business that specializes in designing and crafting high-quality wood furniture from reclaimed and locally salvaged wood. I support all aspects of end-to-end production from local wood-sourcing, milling, and processing to product design, fabrication, and delivery. I also lead communication and coordination with customers, designers, vendors, local craftspeople, and other essential partners. Notably, I played a key role in managing the large-scale renovation of a 30,000 square foot historic warehouse building that became the new company headquarters and now includes a one-of-a-kind workshop space, furniture showroom, and community events venue. I continue to identify and provide facilities upgrades that strategically enhance business operations. To help the company mature and grow beyond an owner-operator model, I led the development and implementation of new operating procedures and workflows to create a more organized, efficient, supportive, and values-driven company.

Provided beginning-to-end project management for large scale commercial construction projects. Led preconstruction efforts including responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs), preparing cost estimates and bids, developing construction schedules, and soliciting/reviewing bids from subcontractors. Supervised on-site subcontractor trades by conducting quality control inspections and managing 3rd party testing agencies. Reviewed technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents to resolve technical and constructability issues through a Request for Information (RFI) process with architects. Utilized critical path method scheduling to ensure projects stayed on schedule, developed bi-weekly look-ahead plans, and provided updates to the overall construction schedule. A cost loaded schedule was utilized to manage monthly invoicing and track financial progression.

Worked with a team of engineers to ensure accurate and thorough overhaul and modernization of combat systems aboard the US Navy’s nuclear powered submarine fleet. Aggregated the knowledge of mechanics, machinists, and other engineers to prepare technical instructions and drawings that directed the repair, replacement, and modification of valves, electro-hydraulic, and structural components. Ensured accurate and functional completion of work by performing shipboard supervision and quality control, writing test procedures, and executing field and bench tests.

Worked alongside a team of experienced chemists, electrical & mechanical engineers, and researchers to design and fabricate custom testing equipment for new battery technologies. Performed prototyping and machine shop work utilizing a variety of methods such as 3D printing and laser cutting.
