Deputy State Surgeon
• Leads a team of administrative assistants to the Deputy State Surgeon, responsible for assisting wounded or injured service members as they navigate through the medical system. Establishes and maintains regular contact with members, providers and department supervision.Gathers medical documentation from injured soldiers to assist in profiling, return to service, or long term medical determination point. Uses critical thinking and problem solving skills to work through the complexities of a member’s health conditions while coordinating health care services for members. Prepares and summarizes medical history information on members to present to the Medical Director. Cultivates relationships with members, providers, co-workers, and other team members to ensure program success. Point of contact for internal departments to answer questions relative to members of their assigned caseload.Utilizes a multitude of medical software programs including;- Health Readiness Records, MEDCHART, Eprofile, MEDPROS, Line of Duty, MHA/PHA Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites and all office equipment.HIPPA certified; Compiles, processes, and maintains medical records of hospital and clinic patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the health care system. Processes, maintains, compiles, and reports patient information for health requirements and standards in a manner consistent with the healthcare industry's numerical coding system.
