The Technical Configuration Manager (CM) role centred upon the planning, administration and support of Ericsson’s Linux-based hardware design department, supporting 300+ users.Key responsibilities:IT support - first line of support in our department for most of the areas listed below, especially when Ericsson’s internal IT support routines were often inefficient and hard to follow.Knowledge base - creation of a new way of working centralised around Confluence (and Jira) to replace inefficient and outdated information systems. Integration of Confluence with Jira streamlined tasks further, such as ticket creation and project planning.Ticket/project planning system - I spearheaded the introduction and implementation of Jira for both personal and department projects.System administration - troubleshooting powerful Linux (RedHat) servers used for hardware design tasks. Administration and support of Clearcase. Development and support of scripts (bash/perl/tcl) used for environment configuration, system surveillance and hardware design tasks. Project management of server updates and migrations.Change Management - as Change Manager for our department my responsibilities were to plan and prepare my department for Ericsson’s monthly change weekend routines. Tasks included planning for and testing any changes that impacted the department, following up changes with reports back to Ericsson IT.Identity Management - administration and configuration of roles facilitating access to applications and system resources.Third party connections - configuration and support of local and global third party VPN connections to Ericsson internal resources.
