My education began with a BSc in Social Science (first-class/highest dissertation grade) and an MA in Social Anthropology (distinction/highest dissertation grade). I hold a PhD in social anthropology from the University of Cambridge (considered 'excellent' by examiners). Following this I was an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography, University of Oxford. After this position, I became a Research Fellow at the Institute of Population Ageing (OIPA), University of Oxford. The bulk of my research has been concerned with mobile peoples in Europe and Asia. However, since working at the OIPA, I have conducted a project on intergenerational design and healthy ageing with Professor Sarah Harper and I am currently working with a transdisciplinary team researching community resources in Oxfordshire. My research has been funded by Wolfson College and the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge, the ESRC, Santander, and the Frederick Williamson Memorial Fund. I was also awarded first prize in Cambridge's Department of Social Anthropology, Ethnographic Photograph Competition. In addition, I was a student advisor at St Antony's College, and a Research Associate at University College, University of Oxford. I have also acted as an Admissions Tutor at Keble College, Oxford for undergraduate assessment and subsequent intake in archaeology and anthropology (2021-2024). In terms of teaching, I have supervised an award-winning thesis in Geography, which won the Oxford departmental prize and was awarded the Royal Geographical Society national prize. I have also taught anthropology to Oxford and Cambridge undergraduate/master's students and taught and mentored visiting postgraduate students from Peking University and the University of Basel. Moving beyond my disciplinary background in social anthropology, I also regularly teach part of a master's class at the Royal College of Art's, Design Age Institute. Due to my research on ageing, I was invited to become a member of the Leadership Team for the British Society of Gerontology, Special Interest Group on Business and Society.
