Frosts Landscapes is a commercial landscaping company predominately working in the South of the UK. Departments within Frosts Landscapes included Grounds Maintenance, Landscape Construction, Interior Landscaping and Christmas Tree Hire. • Responsible for the management of approximately 1000ha of public open space including the ground maintenance of parkland, grid road landscaping, commercial property landscaping, woodland, watercourses and grazing land. Managing all aspects of the landscaping, including vegetation works and hard landscaping features.• The daily management and work prioritisation of approximately 30 contractors and direct works staff. Direct manager to two members of staff.• Responsible for contract specification. This includes accurate contract price estimation, budget calculations and negotiations on continuity contracts.• Daily management of contracts. Liaising with contract workers of all levels to ensure quality standards are achieved and contract specification is adhered to.• Working to strict budgets with park improvements, planting, thinning and day working contractors. Ensuring best value for money is achieved for the Trust.• Attending weekly management meetings to report on projects and progress. • Ensuring all staff and contractors work to strict safety guidelines and conform to set standards and regulations.• Communicating with members of the public, colleagues and outside agencies responding to enquiries and complaints. • A Parks Trust representative for the Britain in Bloom competition.• Responsible for ensuring all park features are inspected to schedule and repaired or replaced as necessary.• Planning and implementing park improvement and development projects. • Working with Ecological Consultants and amending working practices to improve local biodiversity.• Responsible for supervision of the annual planting and seeding.• Managing all Parks Trust woodland grant scheme applications through the Forestry Commission. The Parks Trust is an independent charity that cares for over 6,000 acres of parkland and green space in Milton Keynes.
