Increased size of the group from 2 people to 12 and funding from less than $400k to more than $5M in the first year. Led several successful efforts to obtain both external and internal funding.• On contract to the United States Air Force Directorate of Strategic Security, Nuclear Weapons and Counterproliferation Agency, Advanced Technology Division (2003–2005); Completed weapon effectiveness analyses, systems design and evaluation, and operational studies for counterforce strikes against CBRNE and other asymmetric threats; assessed CBRNE targets and intelligence information; analyzed nuclear weapon modifications, life extension program assessments, and system and component analysis. Nuclear weapon and counterproliferation solution concepts developed and fielded to ensure continued mission readiness, operation, and reliability certification throughout their lifetime. Results used as the basis of USAF nuclear policy.

• Performed DOE/DoD classified original research in design and performance assessment of thermonuclear weapons. Applied and interpreted numerical simulations modeling diverse physical processes; developed more accurate physical models; furthered understanding of physics through design and interpretation of above-ground experiments and re-analysis of data from past thermonuclear testing. Completed the experimental design and application of an innovative new non-destructive evaluation techniques for current US nuclear stockpile issues.
