My interest in the health field began with enrollment in the health occupations program which was a partnership between my high school and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). The program opened the door to a wide array of careers in the medical field. Each week classmates would rotate through local hospitals and care givers to experience what each had to offer. I became drawn to Radiography after shadowing a tech in the E.R. To get my foot in the door at a local hospital, I worked in food service while continuing my H.S. degree and studying to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. My priorities shifted after 9-11, and I joined the United States Marine Corps as a Military Policeman. After graduating bootcamp and attending Marine Combat Training, I was sent to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio TX. There I learned the skills needed to be a Special Corrections Officer. For the following 4 years while stationed at Camp Lejeune NC, I familiarized myself with every position attainable within my pay grade including: Special Quarters Non Commissioned Officer, Receiving and Release officer, Roads and Grounds, Transportation Officer, and Control Room Supervisor. After successfully completing my 5 year commitment with the Marines, I returned home and began working for the Florida Department of Corrections. My wife was employed under Vincent Strumolo at New Life Addiction Treatment Center and asked if I would be available to assist in some part time activities. After acquiring the necessary training, I became a Behavioral Technician and began my new Journey in the addictions field. When Mr. Strumolo was presented the opportunity to return to Texas and work along side Addiction Campuses, he promptly requested us to join him. Now, I am with Addiction Campuses Treehouse, in Scurry TX. I'm currently the Operations Manager / Safety Officer, looking forward to growing with this company and continuing my career helping people rediscover their path towards sobriety.
