About Anthony Konarski

I’ve developed a wide and varied skillset over the years and have adapted to many changing situations in the businesses I’ve worked for, from takeovers by large multinationals to the turbulent world of tech start-ups. I initially started my career through building and designing websites and online advertising for numerous small companies during my education. My first full time role was a 12 month placement in the marketing department of Canon. There I looked after much of the UK and Ireland websites while also providing design support to the communications team. After university I shifted into the B2B space with CardSave until it was purchased by WorldPay. During my time there I developed my eye for branding and campaigns while assisting with event planning and working closely with the digital marketing teams. Eventually I moved on to a small FinTech start-up in Manchester called AccessPay. The company was very much in its infancy and I was required to fulfil many roles during my time here. I’ve been in involved with or coordinating tasks ranging from event planning, digital marketing, SEO, web development, design, branding, advertising, logistics, office moves, interior design, CRM management, marketing automation platform management and implementation, reporting and analytics. As is the case with startups, when there’s a small team, you have to muck in and get things done and learn fast. Amongst my achievements are managing the transition from Pardot to Marketo for the marketing and sales team, completing a full rebrand of the company and managing our first big office move including the design and procurement to a very tight budget. While one of my favourite projects was managing and planning a small expo in London for leading treasurers including a guest talk from the rogue trader himself, Nick Leeson.I pride myself on my adaptability and learning fast. I enjoy getting hands on just as much as the planning and coordination.

    I have primarily focused on transforming and developing marketing channels to increase conversions and ultimately sales. During my time with the business it has grown from a small handful of people to a much larger entity and the marketing strategy has had to grow in line. A large part of this was migrating to a marketing automation platform and is one of my personal successes. I handled the transition ensuring no loss of functionality and implementednew tracking, email nurturing and scoring features. Many of the complex nurturing and scoring models I created had alerts that allowed the team to jump onto hot prospects while they were engaged with content and assign them to the appropriate sales people. With these tools the sales team they were able to land a number of large household name prospects and ensure a steady stream of qualified inbound leads. Once a lead entered the sales engine I would ensure the team had engaging presentations and documents to convert the leads to oppourtunities. To bring in more cold leads I designed the majority of print, merchandise, emails, event stands and advertising and redesigned the website on a number of occaisions. In the case of events I planned and executed a number of internal and external events in the UK and abroad, including tracking mechanisms to ensure attribution for leads generated at events. In addition I completed a number of branding projects for new products/sub-brands as well as a complete overhaul of the brand with new branding guidelines to ensure consistency. With new data protection laws on the horizon (GDPR), I was tasked with ensuring the email marketing and sales activity was GDPR compliant. I created a best practice plan and consulted with legal partners to ensure that operations could carry with as little impact as possible on lead generation. This culminated with the implementation of a preference centre and a documentation to guide future activity.

    My role mainly focussed on design and creative execution. I created a set of branding guidelines and roled them out across web, print, video and advertising. One of my greatest successes was designing the interface and structure of the internal iPad app for the sales team. It took a great deal of time working out the complexties of the sales process but the end result was a foolproof method for the the field sales team to quickly sign up new customers directly from the iPad with no more paperwork and massively reduced processing errors and increased onboarding team efficiency. During the takeover process with WorldPay I handled the transition of all the marketing collateral and advertising to the new brand and worked closely with the London marketing team to ensure consistency across web, email, print, customer user interfaces and advertising. In doing so I reduced the marketing team’s reliance on external agencies and saved a considerble portion of the marketing budget.
