I worked on a winning state representative campaign in Humboldt park as a canvasser where I grew in public speaking skills convincing people to vote for the candidate I was representing. Afterward, I served as a community leader for the University of Kentucky Latine community as a chapter President of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc., the first and only Multicultural Latino-based Fraternity in the state, as well as the president of the Latino Student Union. In these roles, I was able to represent the community in a number of Diversity settings in efforts to improve retention for multicultural populations on campus. I had a five-year career in the military, including serving in National Guard, and Army Reserve capacities. I also attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and participated in leadership development courses throughout my tenure.
