The labor involved carbon arc gouging, grinding, cutting, stick welding, and installing new rivets with a minimum temperature of 18,500 degrees farenheit.• Assisted in the overhaul of Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) passenger rail cars, to include disassembly, body work, and truck refurbishment including the replacement of equalizer beams, wear liners, and rivets similar to the Hyundai/Rotem project.• Assisted as part of a small team of technicians in the process of repairing car body and structural damage of several Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) passenger rail cars which included cutting, fabrication, TIG welding, and grinding of corrugated stainless steel material for the outermost "skin" of said passenger cars.• Utilized drawings and blueprints provided by the company's engineering department to construct multiple tools and equipment for the safe work and transportation of larger items and project materials including heavy rail train trucks.•Fabricated and repaired flooring of passenger rail cars that needed to be replaced due to rust and erosion, using thin gauge sheet metal, cutting and grinding tools, and the MIG welding process.
