Comcast Beaverton, OregonCall Center1999-2005As The Provisioning Tech it was my job to assist in the provisioning of new orders and was responsible for tracking and coordinating provisioning tasks to help ensure these orders are installed on time. On a daily basis I would interface with customers, various groups within Icoms, as well as, other ILEC’s & CLEC’s to test & turn-up new orders. Serving as the liaison with end users, managers and technical teams to communicate the status of an order and I also had the ability to work assignments that are complex using standard procedures, tools and equipment. As the Provisioning Tech I possesed a detailed understanding of reading and interpreting TBS orders, engineering designs, switch translations, IP network diagrams, technical schematics and the provisioning test turn-up procedures along with being able to configure Ethernet ports, modules and slots to turn-up Atrica equipment.It was also imperative that I had a strong understanding of the OSI model (specifically layers 1, 2 & 3) to help configure routers. In this role is also was responsible for interfacing with ILEC & CLEC to coordinate testing on type II’s and scheduling ports between Optimum Lightpath and end users. As the Provisioning Tech I also worked closely with installation field technicians to verify continuity of new orders prior to completion and maintain IP records and correspondence with ARIN.net to track and support IP address usage. I was responsible for provisioning, formatting and coding functionality of Lucent DACS IV & DACS II, Telabs Titan, Cisco Fibex, Next Level USAM, & BDT, Zhone for T3, T1 & DS0 and had a strong understanding of test equipment to test DS0, T-1, T-3’s. Being the SME Provisioning Tech it was also up to me to mentor other technicians by training them on equipment and knowledge needed to perform the job. Basically I trained the call centers after I learned the ins and outs.
