Anthony has experience working as a school psychologist, a school counselor, an educator, private tutor, and mentor with 15+ years of experience in the field of teaching and education. He currently tutors students, grades 4-12, in math, homework, mentoring, and executive functioning support. A common goal he has with students is to help them improve their academic performance and feel more confident in their abilities to tackle tasks independently.After graduating from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Anthony went on to obtain his Education Specialist degree in School Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Over the past fifteen years, Anthony has devoted his time to helping students of all ages and with various learning needs to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. Anthony has worked in various educational roles including a teaching assistant at Helping Hand School for Children with Autism, an education specialist for The Chicago Home Tutor, and a teacher/mentor for Fusion Academy in Evanston, Illinois. Anthony moved from Chicago to Portland in October, 2021, and has enjoyed connecting to the outdoors and enjoying the abundance of green spaces and proximity to nature that the Pacific Northwest provides. Anthony also works as a school counselor at Bridges Middle School where he supports students' social, emotional, and mental health. Anthony has found that students learn best when they are encouraged and provided a safe space to learn. Anthony finds that working with students in a one-to-one or small group setting allows for more individualized and effective instruction; where the individual student’s personal strengths and needs, as well as their unique learning profile all play a pivotal role in his approach and instructional planning. Anthony's focus has been on cultivating positive, authentic relationships with students, where they feel seen and heard, all while challenging them to learn and grow beyond their real and/or perceived limitations.
