My name is Anthony Marshall I live in the village of Hathersage in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, England. I have been a fine art photographer for over thirty years. My work attempt to explore the visual relationship between photography and painting. My imagery is minimalist and always has been very painterly. I see the landscape in terms of texture, colour and shape it is important to me that the final composition has a strong element of design. Over the years I have built up an intimate knowledge of the landscape which has generated thousands of locations in my head, so I never arrive at a location by accident, only by design. As the impressionist painters I visit the same locations over and over again, sometimes on the same day, also of course in different seasons. The light is constantly changing, which is particularly true of my "Liquidlight" series of images as they attempt to capture the fleeting moment when light is reflected off the surface of water, creating natural elements of abstract design. I believe that art should be about the creation of beautiful effects. My print work is held in private collections in the UK, Europe, USA and the Far East. For many years now I have concentrated on my exhibition work in fine art galleries and to date (2011) have held more than forty exhibitions. For many years now I have been a specialist in the production of facimile prints working with national museums, art galleries, art collectors and individual artists.
