I am seasoned production specialist with years of experience in textiles, apparel, technical and all fabric types. Most recently I have worked as a Tesco liaison for Poetic-Gem but, I am now actively looking for the next exciting chapter to add to my diverse career portfolio. I have worked as an expatriate in 9 countries adaptable and happy to travel. With Poetic Gem I was based in Bangladesh as the head of quality and technical with my main aim to build trust between Tesco's and Poetic_gem ensuring that factories were ethically compliant, following safety, production and quality. Ensuring that all garments being made in Tesco's approved units. My priority was to bring up factories from alert red to green status. Prior to this, I completed a 6-month sourcing contract with the workwear company Dragonfly, based in Hertfordshire the UK, making DeWalt / Stanley and Dunlop for USA, UK, and EU. I evaluated their current factories in China. I inspected, rated and sourced several alternative units in Bangladesh, and Pakistan based recommendations on ethics, systems, technical ability, delivery, security, and flexibility.In 2018 I was tasked to set up and run a new factory, on behalf of Royal Design in Tunisia, Sousse as the General Manager. This opportunity opened my eyes to the possibilities offered by Tunisian factories. From 2011 - 17 I was employed in a full-time postion at Pentex- in London as Head of QC / Technical Manager running the sample rooms and quality department for the products we manufactured in Vietnam, Moldova, Tunisia, Romania, Turkey, and Sri Lanka. I set up expatriate teams in Moldova, Sri Lanka, and Romania and personally covered Tunisia, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. Here production topped 3 million garments/month for Primark. Suzi Shere and Kiabi.I have 40 years hands-on experience and have started from the bottom up in most positions in the apparel industry. I am more than competent at cutting, planning, work-study line layout, sewing, factory design, planning, pattern, costing , garment break down, marker making, sourcing, compliance, auditing, training, management support, delegation, and effect quality assurance systems.My experience to date has seen me manage or set up ethical apparel factories from 350 machinists, to 3000 people factories as General Manager in Sri Lanka. I have a hands-on work approach, and shift between technical, quality assurance, ethical compliance and safety. My experience in Factory and department set ups, and production ensures quality and efficiency resulting in surprise free product.
