Responsible for planning, coordinating, information sharing, and integrating all aspects of Tennessee National Guard and DoD efforts relating to Defense Support for Civil Authorities. Responsible for formulating, managing and distributing resources to support Domestic Operations. Act as the J3/DCSOPS in his absence. Developed strategy and efficiently executed FY 13 and FY 14 funding requirements during CR, Sequestration and government shutdown. Even with these distracters executed over 99% of total allotment. Provided guidance and priority for the execution of the FY 13 training budget in excess of $86 million. Wrote or reviewed over 30 operations orders and FRAGOs to synchronize and resource major events and activities involving complex support or multiple sources.

Commander of a tactical Airfield Operations Battalion (AOB). Directly responsible for planning, training coordination, operations execution, and combat operations for 77 Soldiers and all associated Air Traffic Services (ATS) equipment, valued at over $8.5 million. Deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Served as the Senior Airfield Authority for contingency airfields at Tarin Kot and Farah, AFG. Responsible for managing and supervising the deployment of the AN/TSW-7A Air Traffic Control Tower, the Tactical Terminal Control System (TTCS), the Air Traffic Navigation Integration and Coordination System (ATNAVICS), and the Tactical Airspace Integration System (TAIS) along with manning two fixed base towers; providing seamless airspace deconfliction and airfield operations in two locations in the AOR. Unit was awarded Meritorious Unit Citation and I was personally awarded the Bronze Star Medal and a Meritorious Service Medal during the command.

Responsible for coordinating with the program managers at NGB for the logistical needs of all Tennessee aircraft MDS. I completed the Fixed wing multi-engine course and progressed to RLl in preparation for a Cl2 deployment that got off ramped one month out. I later progressed to RLl and PC in OH-58 A/C.

Coordinated with unit and state leadership for the development of long range planning guidance affecting the state's force structure. I also made numerous presentations at civic organizations in support of recruiting efforts. I was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal during my tenure at the RRB.

During this assignment I served as the Operations Officer (S3) for an Air Cavalry Squadron. I was responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing training and operations within the squadron. I was responsible for developing and implementing the Squadron's Yearly Training Plan. During my stint as the S3, the Squadron staff, HQ Company and two Scout Troops deployed to Kosovo in support of KFOR 5B and KFOR 6A, the Attack Troop deployed to Afghanistan and the Utility Troop deployed to Iraq. I personally deployed to Kosovo as the Aviation Task Force S3 and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. I also performed duties as UH60A PC.

I commanded the TNARNG Reconnaissance and Interdiction Detachment (RAID) as well as performed duties as the Counterdrug Aviation Coordinator. During this command I was responsible for all operational and administrative functions of the RAID. I attended the OH-58A/C and progressed to RLl and PC. The unit flew over 3200 accident free hours in support of the TNARNG Counterdrug Program to include marijuana eradication. The unit performed well an an ARMS. I also supervised the UH60 Counterdrug Rappel team which conducted over 700 rappels in support of the marijuana eradication program. I was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Senior Aviator Badge during this assignment.
