I manage a fleet of over 5000 pieces of MHE (fork lift trucks and pallet trucks) and 9000 lead acid batteries for Tesco Distribution. - I am the go to person in the company for MHE.> Key responsibilities : -I manage all aspects of procurement of MHE from the replacement schedule, budgeting, specification, price negotiation and writing the supporting business case.- I produce annual P&L maintenance, lease and damage revenue budgets for each of the 32 Tesco distribution centres.- I model equipment usage within the depots and work with depot managers to assure the most cost effective fleet size and mix are in place.- I manage the MHE maintenance contacts to ensure that the equipment is safe and legal, the agreed uptime KPI's are being met and that all servicing is completed on schedule.- I write supporting training material, policy and procedures, safe systems of work and risk assessments.- I work closely with cross functional project teams to offer technical support and to ensure that equipment is provided on time and as cost effective as possible. I have supplied equipment to support the opening of a total of 10 depots supporting a period of network realignment and growth.- I have worked with the management team in Tesco Central Europe supporting them while they opened a new depot and setup MHE maintenance contracts and ways of working.- I lead projects to achieve savings assuring Tesco distribution meet their cost savings objectives.- I provide support to each depot on day to day issues.- I manage a fleet of 500 mothballed trucks that can be called off to supplement the depot fleet sizes at peak or to support projects as and when required.

> Key Achievements- Introduction of a dedicated Gear Idler machining process to a new machine using a probing routine to calculate gear idler positions from cam and crank positions as part of a 30 a day capacity expansion project. - Automated engine block manufacture by reducing operator reliance of machining process.- Ran a project to eliminate a large quality issue causing engine test teardowns and in service failures by leading a project investigating the piston cooling pad machining process and reprogramming to eliminate issue at zero cost to the company.- Ran a project to eliminate a large quality issue causing engine test teardowns and in service failures by leading a project investigating the AV Seal hole machining process and reprogramming to eliminate issue at zero cost to the company.- Re-designed and manufactured in house at minimum cost a modification to a roughing fixture into a multiple operation fixture, to allow for machining of both rough and finished parts. This change was made to give added flexibility in the line to aid process flow and smooth disruptions caused by machine breakdowns.- Constantly reacting to a changing mix and weighting bias of products on an order board by rebalancing processes adding flexibility and smoothing changeover times to meet production targets and schedules.- Managed the processes and provided support to Shop operations on an FMS manufacturing line without any direct supervisor including managing my own workloads and highlighting priorities.

> Key Achievements- Added new machines to JCB Block manufacturing line, and verified there capability.- Worked on project team to introduce new low emissions engine variants to Mahle JCB production line.- Installed new processes and rebalanced Mahle JCB production line to raise capacity and utilise new machines.

> Key Achievements- Increased machining capacity of QSV FMS line from 1 engine a week with a high level of quality defects to 5 engines a week consistently with a measurable increase in block quality. - Identified all of my own targets and goals and ran many projects to eliminate several long standing quality issues. Many of which had been indicative of the line since original run offs.- As the capacity of the line had increased so far this gave available utilisation and therefore I was tasked to move part of the machining of another engine block type onto the FMS line. I managed this smoothly and created all processes to allow smooth transition and added flexibility.- Reduced quality issues consistently month on month- Lead a successful project to sub contract – part manufacture QSV engine product. Including producing debark machining drawings and a manufacturing specification. Helping sub-contractor to specify NC-machinery, working with and applying applicable training to sub-contractor through each stage to assure quality and on-time delivery.
