CurrentHEBCAC is a nonprofit community development corporation founded in 1994 by area residents, in partnership with Baltimore City, State of Maryland, and Johns Hopkins University. HEBCAC’s mission is to work with residents and other stakeholders to support healthy, thriving households and neighborhoods in East Baltimore. HEBCAC focuses on both physical infrastructure and human capital challenges residents and neighborhoods are facing.This position is the central point of contact for all information related to community leaders and community-based organizations within the HEBCAC service area. The responsibilities include creating and sustaining relationships with public, private and corporate partners who can further the efforts of community leaders and the missions of community-based organizations in East Baltimore.Primary Duties include:- Building substantial working relationships between HEBCAC staff and programs and the leaders andcommunity-based organizations of Historic East Baltimore.- Listening to community residents, merchants, and stakeholders about key quality of life issues, and linking HEBCAC programs and staff to efforts resolving these issues. - Organizing and coordinating efforts within the HEBCAC organization as well as with the community.- Offering organizational development/capacity building services to community-based organizations inHistoric East Baltimore, including strategic planning, board development, resource development, projectplanning/implementation, and evaluation.- Seeking out and providing development opportunities to new local leaders.- Leading HEBCAC’s efforts to create and sustain a Historic East Baltimore e-mail information exchange,contribute social media posts and update the HEBCAC website to ensure the optimum flow ofinformation among residents, organizations, and the wider community.
