Senior Staff Software EngineerFrequency Engineering Laboratories Jan 1992 - Jan 2001Lead software engineer responsible for the total re-design of the embedded AN/SLQ25A torpedo defense system. An object-oriented design approach, using C++, VxWorks and the Tornado development system, was used to replace and update the existing Ada code. Responsible for design, code, and implementation of GUI using X-Windows for the display portion of the real-time, embedded TDC (Torpedo Defense Controller) system. The development environment consisted of networked Sun Sparcstations using the Verdix Ada and C cross compiler to a target MVME-167 board. The VME X-Servers in use were the Vigra Vgs-882 X11R5 and Vigra Sliver X11R6. Implemented TCP/IP network and gateway interfaces to the TDC for both FDDI and Ethernet networks. Responsible for all software upgrades an ECNs for the real-time, embedded AN/SLQ25A torpedo defense system. The development environment consisted of an IBM PC using the Alsys real-time cross compiler. Responsible for the design, code, and implementation of a multi-threaded Windows95 based graphics simulator for the AN/SLQ25A. This simulator was developed using Visual C++, MFC and the Microsoft Direct X API. Responsible for the design, code and implementation of an enhanced message interface between the TDC and the AN/SLQ25A.
