Diadem is an integrated, multidisciplinary design and project management firm that shapes brands through strategic signage and wayfinding consultation, design and implementation. As an Industrial Designer, my role contributes to multiple stages of the design process and beyond.My key responsibilities include:- Interpreting client briefs to uncover their key needs and offering a tailored solution that is more than signage: a strategy to connect people to their brands in the built environment.- Conceptualisation and development of wayfinding and corporate skyscaper signage- Development and refinement of signage suites, retaining the initial design language of early concepts whilst ensuring all parts are feasible for manufacturing and implementation.- Producing technical drawing documents for tender or construction, outlining design form, details of assembly, materials and finishes, manufacturing processes and fixing details. - Collaborating with graphic designers, engineers, account managers, project managers and clients to progress ideas through to production- Liaising with key suppliers, manufacturers and installers to find the best design solution for clients with end users in mind.Some of my major achievements here include:- Research and design of skyscaper signage for multiple major corporate brands across Australia.- Development of signage suites for the aged care, petrol & convenience and tourism industry- Construction and tender documentation of signage roll-outs for petrol & convenience brands

As part of the Opal Innovation & Design team, my role as an Industrial Packaging Designer entails a mixture of creative and technical tasks that include but are not limited to:- Consulting with high profile clients to establish a project brief - Facilitating creative ideation workshops with relevant stakeholders to interpret briefs into viable concept designs- Conducting technical & creative concept reviews to move concepts further into the design process- Producing quick visual communication through hand/digitally sketched ideas backed with sound research on market trends- Embedding sustainable design practices into the design process with online tools and resources- Curating high resolution product visualisation through rendering software and Adobe suite- Producing technical dielines & drawings and verifying designs through rapid prototyping.- Operating RIP software and large format printers to produce high quality prints to simulate production quality packaging.- Operating cutting/sampling machines to simulate production quality diecutting.- Networking with new clients and suppliers at social events and exhibitions locally and interstate.- Maintaining safety, material and function of the prototyping workshop and machines- Providing first aid to members of the Opal Burnley office to ensure their health and wellbeingOpal is a new and innovative renewable packaging company which is part of the Nippon Paper Group. A full-time casual role producing hardware signs for blue chip clients such as Coles, Liquorland, Kmart, First Choice Liquor Market and Officeworks.Responsibilities:- Final artwork checks and pre-press modifications for large format digital printing.- Selection and application of various print media and vinyl. - Fabrication of acrylic, aluminium and foam board signage for internal store projects.- Trimming final and packaging final prints and preparing freights for regional and interstate dispatch.- Working closely with Project Managers, Graphics & Production Department and Logistics to ensure the client brief is satisfied within tight deadlines.

The Vault is the creative design hub of the International Fusion Corporation. Driven by a team of passionate and creative designers, The Vault encompasses all aspects of print and product design. Our continually expanding portfolio contains over 1500 unique design concepts. With an intimate knowledge of the retail and FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) space, we can execute the most imaginative and ingenious ideas from concept through to functional execution.As a Structural Designer, my role requires me to design and prototype corrugated POS retail displays that are ready for local/offshore mass production. My focus is to ensure that every design is logistically viable, fabricated efficiently, structurally sound, easily assembled and durable in stores. My technical knowledge in 3D modelling/assembly and rapid prototyping allows me to create a range of structures that can disrupt the retail space and, in turn, drive sales for clients. This position requires the extensive use of Esko ArtiosCAD, a packaging design software, to create manufacturing dielines and instructions for packaging/shipping solutions, promotional print and of course, point-of-sale temporary displays. These designs are not limited to corrugated material as I have also designed with plastics, honeycomb board and cardboard. Everyday, I collaborate closely with Account Managers, Concept and Graphic Designers to realise the briefs of our clients to boost their market presence and profitability.Other skills/software I exercise throughout this job is design/process advisory, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Solidworks, Sketchbook Pro and 3D printing to name a few.

An internship at one of the most respected industries in diagnostics, cell therapy, life science, point-of-care, industrial products and consumer products. Invetech is a product realisation company that businesses, of all sizes, trust to boost their success with cutting-edge design and engineering. One of my roles involves the development and testing/verification of automated diagnostic instruments, particularly focusing on fluidics and user interface design.Another role required me to continually assess and improve the efficiency of a production process. Liaising closely with Contract Manufacturers and a production crew, I was able find a solution to save the company time, energy and cost when producing these medical instruments.

My team produced a design brief documenting the research and proposal for a new informal learning space inside Monash University's first building, The Menzies.
