Completed over thirty years UK civilian police service and retired at the rank of detective superintendent. Have led many successful homicide and major crime investigations; plus a number of internal enquiries. Have worked in Kosovo, Bosnia Iraq, Israel and Palestine on security sector reform. Was the contingent commander for the UK police in Bosnia and the deputy contingent commander for the UK civilian police in Iraq. Have worked closely with the UN and EU policing missions. Have advised on investigations in the Balkans and Middle East in relation to human trafficking, hostage taking and murder.
