IBIA promotes improved standards, knowledge and understanding in the industry. We do this through a variety of events and courses, engaging in working groups, by disseminating reliable and accurate information and offering practical advice where we can. We also advocate for effective, pragmatic and workable regulations. One of the most important arenas for that is at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) where IBIA has consultative status as a non-governmental organization. IBIA attends all meetings of the IMO’s Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC), the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) and a number of Sub-Committees.

The GNOPSC Harbor Safety Committee has been active in southern Louisiana for over 40 years with a mission to promote safety and security in the navigable waterways of our state and the Gulf of Mexico. In collaboration between local industry leaders and the United States Coast Guard Sector New Orleans

Oversee various operation and business development aspects of the company, which are the purchase, transportation, terminating, blending, and delivery of petroleum product in the Gulf of Mexico and the US Inland River System. Development of new facilities, vessels, and business lines which supplement or enhance company's current portfolio. The Stone fleet has 19 inland vessels, 49 inland barges, and 3 offshore units. The boats ranging in horsepower from 1200 to over 7300, and the barges ranging in capacity from 10000 Bbls to over 85,000 Bbls. Managing the oversight and development of 15 terminals throughout the lower Mississippi River valley as well as the Gulf of Mexico. Responsibilities include development and oversight of new business lines which advance and promote core business model.

Manage marine lubricants division for territory including Great Lakes, Inland Rivers, and Gulf of Mexico, with annual sales exceeding $17 million. Results include:Corporate Development/M&A: Sourced, acquired and integrated three strategic distributors ahead of schedule and under budget; Conducted exhaustive strategic, financial, and competitive analysis for target companies; Secured a commitment by a major multi-national buying cooperative.Business Development: Inked inland river distribution deals resulting in access to 75% of readily accessible fuel docks while limiting access to competition.P&L Management: Established budgets, aggressive timelines, revenue goals and process workflows in support of business objectives; Managed diverse operations at multiple locations in US and abroad. International Negotiations: Negotiated multiple international supply contracts with shipping companies located in Greece, Panama, and Vanuatu.

Co-founded and launched an integrated marine consulting company focused on the $300b Inland River boat and barge market. Significant results include: Recruited management team, formulated business/marketing plans, and launched business which resulted in acquisition/license discussions with a prominent Louisiana maritime consulting company. Conducted M&A negotiations with executives at various institutional banking organizations and multiple venture capital firms. Secured multiple bids and led company to a successful acquisition by a private consulting company.

Co-owner and operator of multi lined marine transportation and marine construction comapny. Developed and expanded companies presence in the Great Lakes region. Experience in personnel management, budget preparation and reporting, union contract negotiation, conflict management and resolution. Significant results include:Business Development: Expanded revenue generation by negotiating deals with large area corporations, while expanding major accounts with existing clients. Established Holly Marine Towing as industry leader in innovative barge fleeting and transportation services.P&L Management: Managed diverse operations at multiple locations with limed personnel and resources.Strategic Planning: Designed and oversaw successful construction of one 1500HP sea going tugboat and repowering of two additional tugoats for specific inland river use. Expanded company’s services by designing vehicles for Inland River and Lower Lake Michigan crane transportation.
