In my new role as Fleet Operations Manager for SoCalGas, I am responsible for leading and directing the Fleet Asset and Fleet Maintenance teams in all aspects of fleet operations including the acquisition, disposition, and maintenance of vehicles and specialized work equipment. Included in these activities are the acquisition and maintenance of alternative fueled vehicles and seeking out environmentally beneficial transportation solutions as part of an overall mobility management strategy. I have approximately 30-years of fleet management experience in both maintenance operations and vehicle acquisitions. In my role as Fleet Operations Manager, I am responsible for oversight of the fleet asset acquisition plan and vehicle preventative maintenance and repairs program, including the optimization of vehicles and other fleet related equipment life-cycle costs. My responsibilities also include leading a maintenance organization that performs timely and safe repair & maintenance of a mixed fleet of ~5,100 units located throughout Southern California in a manner that meets client group and operations management’s expectations with safety being a key priority 24/7. An overarching area of my responsibilities are to provide leadership that promotes job knowledge transfer, effective change management, and the development of key strategies leading to cost effectiveness and operational improvements while effectively managing and mentoring a diverse workforce.

As Strategy & Maintenance Operations Manager in Fleet Services for the Sempra Energy utilities, Anthony is responsible for the overall SEu Fleet strategy which includes influencing Alternative Fueled Vehicles growth and utilization in addition to fleet services management personnel development which aligns employee aspirations and skillsets with organizational needs through targeted skills training & mentoring programs along with cross-functional project opportunities and continuous development feedback sessions. As part of his primary responsibilities, Anthony oversees the management of maintenance operations for both SoCalGas and San Diego Gas & Electric which is comprised of over 170 personnel which include fleet technicians and a staff of Maintenance Managers, Fleet Advisors, and Fleet Supervisors who are responsible for maintaining over 7,200 vehicles and equipment for the utilities. With 30+ years of fleet experience, Anthony actively leads efforts in the pursuit of continuous process improvements and efficiency opportunities along with the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and strategies for SEu fleet maintenance organization.

As Strategy & Compliance Manager in Fleet Services for Sempra Energy (So Cal Gas and San Diego Gas & Electric) utilities, Anthony is responsible for the overall SEu Fleet strategy which includes influencing Alternative Fueled Vehicles growth and utilization, the pursuit of fleet maintenance operations process improvement and efficiency opportunities for So Cal Gas, and the development and assurance of compliance standards and strategies for SEu fleet maintenance garages. He also oversees the a comprehensive Quality Assurance program that ensures fleet services compliance with all regulatory agencies such as Cal OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), ANSI (American National Safety Institute) and other applicable regulatory mandates and guidelines. In addition, he is responsible for fleet services management development which aligns employee aspirations and skillsets with organizational needs through targeted skills training & mentoring programs along with cross-functional project opportunities and continuous development feedback sessions.
