Anthony Navarro Orta is the Fleet Services Asset Management Manager for Southern California Gas Company with over 30-years of fleet management experience. He has developed “best practice” sourcing strategies and in addition to “Best Value” bid evaluation tools which have resulted in cost savings and significant sourcing opportunities for diverse businesses. Anthony currently oversees fleet vehicle replacement and vehicle utilization strategies for SCG Fleet Services – an organization with approximately 5,000 vehicles and equipment, of which 4,000 are over-the-road vehicles. Of those, over 900 (23%) of these vehicles are powered by natural gas. He also has fleet maintenance operations environmental compliance responsibilities in addition to vehicle and equipment remarketing strategies. Most recently, he assumed a project leadership role as a member of the “Drive Natural Gas Initiative” (now known as the ADD NAT GAS campaign) which includes members from the American Gas Association (AGA) and American Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) which operate across North America. His efforts resulted in successfully leading the team in partnering with Chrysler to produce a bi-fuel C300 sedan, and working with Landi Renzo U.S.A. to produce a bi-fuel Honda CR-V. Both demonstration vehicles are being showcased throughout North America to promote CNG as a transportation fuel. Anthony formerly held the position of Chairman of the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) Pacific Southwest Chapter and is currently the Chairman of the National Truck and Equipment Association (NTEA) Fleet Advisory Council.
