Familiarization with the local and regional lithostratigraphy through detailed measurement and description of stratigraphic sections. Strong emphasis was placed on proper mapping techniques as well as employing the scientific method to explain the origin of geologic features. Included environmental geology and geophysics exercises. Field School took place in Canon City, Colorado and surrounding areas.

San Ignacio, Belize

Experience involved stratigraphic excavation and mapping of the site, surface collection, screening of site and materials. Also incorporated laboratory work in the processing and documentation of recovered artifacts such as ceramics, litihic artifacts, and human and animal remains. Lectures focused on an overview of Maya civilization and introductions to ceramic analysis, surveying methods, ancient Maya ritual, and ideology.
