Worked as a CAD Technician delivering professional structural, civil and associated engineering consultancy services across both public and private sectors.Projects and responsibilities included:Working as the sole CAD Technician on a number of projects of various sizes from small electrical sheds, to primary school extensions, to entire nursing home developments. This included being responsible for interpreting drawings and data from both architects and structural engineers and combining them into a set of clear, concise structural drawings running through all stages from preliminary to construction.Sourcing and interpreting data to be put into Flood Risk Assessment drawings. This also included conducting a number of level surveys as part of a two-man team.Conducting on-site utilities surveys of existing developments.Creating a comprehensive database of standard construction details to allow engineers to copy and paste details directly into drawings as appropriate. This included details for masonry, steel, concrete, drainage, timber, retaining walls, road constructions and external works, resulting in 195 separate typical details, each drawn to current codes and standards.Designing a gas venting system beneath the Athletes' Village for the London 2012 Olympics.Conducting fire safety surveys as part of a two-man team, including designing exit routes and appropriate placement of signage.Working as part of a four-man team to conduct an extensive survey of the London Underground tunnels between Farringdon and Moorgate Stations (often only by torchlight) in order to determine a route for new high voltage electrical cables. This also included the detailed mapping of the 'underworld' beneath the platforms of Farringdon Station in preparation for the new station extension.Creating a visual directory of soil reports accessed through the use of Google Earth.
