I was an HM Inspector of Probation for nine years, leading many inspections with published reports. Previously I was a senior manager in the probation and health services. My focus has been In inspection, complaints, HR and finance, as well as operational functions. I have clerked a local council and a probation board. I am currently Chair of the Elizabeth Fry Charity, an organisation based in Reading, Berkshire, that provides an approved premises place for up to 24 women at a time who have been released from prison on licence.I also sit as Vice-Chair of the National Approved Premises Association (NAPA), a Community Interest Company (CIC), that works with ten independent Approved Premises (APs) across England.
