My role as Project Manager covered all works that CBI were awarded by Caltex as part of the Caltex’s Kurnell refinery to storage terminal conversion. In my role as Project Manager I was responsible for all aspects of the projects and reported to the Operations Manager. - Converted 2 x 60m Storage Tanks from Crude Oil Service to Jet Fuel. This required the tanks to be raised 1m and a cone down floor to be installed. Modifications were carried out to API 653.-Converted 2 x 74m Storage Tanks from Crude Oil Service to Diesel. One of the tanks required a new geodesic dome roof. Modifications carried out to API 653.

    Rio Tinto, Yarwun II Refinery ExpansionCBI’s scope of work on the RTA Yarwun II Greenfield Project was the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of 98 tanks and associated piping & mechanical in a cost reimbursable contract with Bechtel.My first 12 months in my role as Field Engineer I was based in the site pre-assembly area. We built 33 tanks of 17 different designs made from duplex and mild steel. These tanks were all transported to their foundations on site. I provided technical support, ordering of materials and completed the lift studies needed to finish this work on time. The remainder of my time in this role was spent as the single engineer on site so I got to cover all aspects of CBI’s scope which included Structural, Mechanical, Piping and API650 storage tanks.
