As a Research Assistant at the department of Radiation Oncology at UNC, I am deeply involved in a pioneering study aimed at evaluating the effectiveness and outcomes of a novel inpatient consultation service in radiation oncology for patients with metastatic diseases. This project is instrumental in enhancing our understanding of palliative radiation therapy's role in alleviating symptoms and improving treatment experiences for cancer patients.

As a Supplemental Instructor in Biology, I supported over 600 students by clarifying concepts in lectures and leading extra review sessions. I was actively involved in student engagement, addressing inquiries through email and in person, aiding their understanding and academic success. My collaboration with the professor in adapting teaching methods and incorporating student feedback enhanced the course effectiveness, showcasing my ability to communicate information and dedication to educational excellence.

In my role as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Vincent lab, I contribute to research in immunogenomics and systems tumor immunology. Our lab focuses on understanding and enhancing cancer treatments, with each project playing a critical part in advancing cancer patient care.

I worked in the office of cancer health equity at atrium health wake forest Baptist learning and finding ways to have a more equitable healthcare environment. This internship consisted of researching insurance and health policy, as well as working to aid underprivileged individuals receive the healthcare they deserve.

In my role as Community Governor for the Quads Community, I oversaw the strategic direction and community engagement for a vibrant residence of 700+ individuals. My responsibilities encompass supervising weekly meetings with twelve officers to make crucial executive decisions, attending and participating in the 2-hour weekly Board of Governors meetings to vote on grant requests and advocate for community needs. Additionally, I manage a significant budget of over $8,000, ensuring effective allocation of resources for community initiatives. This role was integral in fostering a dynamic and supportive environment, enhancing the overall residential experience at the Quads Community.
