Oversee everything from the day to day operations to longer term strategy and planning for one of NYC's most iconic public spaces - Flushing Meadows Corona Park!Serve as the liaison between NYC Parks and the FMCP community, including community boards, non-profit partners, and elected officials.Develop capital priorities and work to assist in securing funding for desired capital and requirements projects.Plan, review, approve and manage all special events and programs that take place within FMCP.Maintain high standards of customer service, public access and park maintenance.Additionally, serve as Executive Director for the Alliance for Flushing Meadows Corona Park, leading board activities and drive private support for park operations and programming.

The Citywide Special Events division oversees all events that take place on Parkland that are over 500 people or are promotional or commercial in nature. In addition, the Citywide Special Events office works closely with the Marketing office to produce the agency’s signature Parks-produced events including Adventures NYC and Winter Jam. The office also works closely on the production of large-scale citywide events such as the New York Marathon and large Great Lawn concerts.Major Responsibilities include:• Wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and decision, manage the coordination of special events held in city parks.• Manage special events staff and internally-produced Parks events.• Coordinate the production of large-scale citywide events on parkland.• Review permits, schedules and event operations and coordinate the resources needed to ensure the events are successful.• Coordinate with borough special event offices to ensure consistency and accountability with regards to special event operations.• Act as the liaison with the Chief of Citywide Special Events and Deputy Commissioner for Management & Budget on large-scale special events and immediate issues.• Represent Parks at external meetings with city, state and federal agencies and community partners.• Manage the citywide events database and generate reports as needed.• Communicate clearly and effectively with the public and staff to ensure that all requests or concerns are resolved.

Major Responsibilities include:• Assist the Director of Special Events with the coordination of special events held in city parks.• Management of Special Events staff and internally produced Parks events.• Brief Chief of Marketing & Corporate Sponsorship and Deputy Commissioner for Management & Budget on large- scale special events and immediate issues.• Coordinate activities of all City, State, and Federal agencies involved in citywide events.• Review permits, schedules, and operations of all events and coordinate the resources needed to ensure the events are successful.• Represent City and Agency at Community Board meetings and related neighborhood groups, when necessary. • Monitor, track, and report to the Director/Chief of Special Events all issues regarding events held annually in the park system.• Manage the creation of all citywide event calendars including bi-weekly reports and internal working calendars.• Manage the tracking of all incoming revenue to the division through a pre-designed database.• Communicate clearly and effectively with the public and staff. Ensure that all requests or concerns are resolved.• Manage the production of all large-scale citywide events.
