About Anthony Simons
I am a semi-retired academic software engineer with research interests in model-based testing and model-driven engineering. Previously, I worked in object-oriented analysis and design and in object-oriented type theory. Before that, I worked in automatic speech recognition. At the University of Sheffield, I have taught the following subjects:Engineering: Systems Design, Security, UML, Databases, Cloud ComputingProgramming: Java, C++, Smalltalk, Eiffel, LispTheory: Lambda calculus, type theory, symbolic reasoning in AIAerospace: Spacecraft design and simulationI served as Director of Undergraduate Admissions in Computer Science from 2012-2019, and Director of Teaching in Computer Science from 1999-2005. I was Head of the Testing Research Group from 2016-2018, Co-Director of the ICT Track at the South-East European Research Centre, Thessaloniki from 2008-2015.My research software products include two lazy systematic unit testing tools for Java (CatWalk, JWalk), a Model-Driven Engineering language and compiler for Java (ReMoDeL), a model-based testing tool for brokered systems in the cloud (Broker@Cloud) and an automatic grader for UML diagrams (UMLTutor).

I served as Director of Teaching; Director of Teaching Quality; and International Exchange Coordinator.My research projects during this period included EPSRC MOTIVE (Method for Object-oriented Testing, Integration and Verification).
