I was appointed to the Executive Board as the 4th Vice President of the Texas School District Police Chiefs' Association, an organization dedicated to supporting the nearly 400 Independent School District (ISD) and charter school police and safety departments across Texas's 1,200 school districts.

As the Region 9 Director for the Texas School District Police Chiefs' Association, I oversaw the organization's activities across 12 counties within Texas Education Service District 9.

Served the Jasper Police Department as a Detective Sergeant supervising the Department's Narcotics Division. These duties included investigating narcotics-related crimes at the Local, State, and Federal level including drug trafficking and drug possession using a variety of resources and Law Enforcement techniques to include working with K-9 units, Surveillance, Title III Investigations, Undercover Investigations, the Recruitment, Development, and use of informants,, communicating with other Law Enforcement Agencies to coordinate with Task Forces during investigations, Buy/bust operations to thwart the blatant sale of narcotics on the streets, and Warrant Service.

Honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps after four years of dedicated service to the Nation. This service included a deployment to Afghanistan where I was a member of Combined Forces Special Operations Component Command - Afghanistan (CFSOCC-A). As a member of CFSOCC-A, one of my duties involved being a part of a team tasked with assisting with the implementation of the Afghan Local Police (ALP) initiative. The ALP initiative was designed as an international counterinsurgency program that worked by raising small, village-level defense forces from within rural Afghan communities. These forces were then trained by US Special Operations personnel to gain the ability to defend thier communities and local populace against the Taliban. Despite being driven by counterinsurgency objectives – that is, seeking to defeat insurgents - its emphasis upon harnessing local populations reflected broader fashions in development and security policy circles. As a member of CFSOCC-A I was awarded two personal awards, one of which was an "Impact" award, and also a "Combat Meritorious" promotion for my service while in Afghanistan.
