I am a sound engineer currently working in research & development for digital audio products. I specialise in measurement and analysis of analog / digital signal paths. I work alongside software developers and DSP engineers to create non-linear emulations of analog and digital transfer functions. I actively seek to develop upon the standard implementation of these systems with improved standards of measurement, as well as developing hybrid transfer functions that minimise computational cost.I specialise in studio production which I incorporate into my work, for example:- recording drum sample libraries- impulse responses- full band / ensemble recordings - shaping control parameters for users with different audio products- voicing audio effectsAs a musician and studio engineer, I understand the needs of the user and ensure these are implemented where necessary. I have experience with acoustics and loudspeaker design, which actively inform the trajectory of certain design projects e.g. I specify amplifiers, loudspeakers and DSP functions to achieve desired outcomes based on project briefs. I also use my skills in acoustics to inform sound isolation/treatment plans for various different environments (studios, offices, residential, commercial venues etc).Beyond all of this, I am the director of a recording studio that produces music and live sessions for independent artists across the midlands, as well as direct large scale music events such as Navaratri and Diwali, Leicester.
