In this position I was responsible for writing scripts that were then used to create videos for the GTV YouTube channel. These include promotional product, "How-To" and "Tech Tips" scripts that require careful research and attention to detail. When videos were completed, I shared them on Galco's four social media accounts to maximize our reach and keep their followers engaged.

In this position I worked with Metro Times editorial staff and other interns to produce written content for this publication. I contributed stories and slideshows of food, music and news inside of Detroit for our site's blog.

Covered the news of Oakland County, Michigan. During this internship I worked with editors and other reporters to report on everything from crime to local business to city government to human interest features. Through this position I discovered that I am more passionate about covering local business, culture and entertainment than hard news beats like crime and government.

Here I interviewed citizens, wrote stories of Pontiac's comeback towards economic prosperity and put together a quarterly newsletter that told the good stories of a historic city on the rise. Myself and a small staff of Oakland University students and faculty members worked closely with Mayor Deirdre Waterman and her staff. I received a scholarship award from the Michigan Press Association for my work with the city.

Served as an editor of the Life section in the summer of 2015 after being a frequent contributor to the campus newspaper during the previous year. I worked closely with the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance as well as university students and faculty to cover this beat. I continued to submit a weekly music column through 88.3FM WXOU the following year as a senior in undergrad.

Communicated with College Music Journal and record promoters about what our station was playing, maintained our music library, and handled music submissions from artists and promoters. Hosted on and off campus events on behalf of the station which included public speaking, DJing and equipment setup. I received multiple awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for submissions into the College Radio categories in 2015 and 2016.
