• Hands-on IT Director who leads by example and is very determined to provide solutions to problems that employees within the organization encounter, whether IT related or not.• Have been acknowledged as a `go to guy' when issues arise and colleagues have exhausted their time and patience as it relates to daily job functions and need immediate assistance.• As time permits, review, then enhance, various modules of our systems, such as EDI on the Retail side and Order Processing on both the Retail and Direct Response sides of our business.• Engage in bi-weekly discussions with a QSA assigned to our account with our sights set on arriving at and adhering to PCI DSS 3.1 .• Regularly consult with contractors, electricians, security technicians, HVAC site engineers, LAN/WAN vendors, PBX vendors and ISP vendors as needed, to be their eyes and ears while they work remotely and on site, when repairs and installations are performed or services are upgraded.• Coordinated and worked on the database and software migration from Advanced Pick on a Bull Escala T box to an IBM 7131 box running Universe.• Troubleshoot and solve issues that generally flare up when bringing on board a new EDI customer that needs minor modifications to both inbound and outbound programs

• Work exclusively on PSS (Parcel Shipping System) with respect to enhancing program software to accommodate the constant changes within the small parcel and LTL shipping industry, e.g. rate changes, surcharges, weight restrictions, new services offered by some carriers, etc.• Annual label redesign is always needed to become compliant by some larger parcel carriers such as UPS, which I personally handled and obtained certification in February 2001.• Regularly made coding changes for Datamax and Eltron printers as well as Symbol Technologies scanners.

• Work directly with 3 IT colleagues in the various day to day operations of a mail order company which include setting up ASCII terminals, transmitting spooler & data files to warehouses in both California and Connecticut via FTP, enhance existing software, write, test & install new software, re-activate frozen or hung Pick, TOPIX and/or AIX processes such as terminals and printers, procure hardware, assist customer service personnel with problems and serve as a one man support desk.• Other duties include setting up scheduled batch processing to update Interactive Voice Response system which runs Oracle on an NT platform with comma-delimited files via FTP from the Escala Pick platform, monitor file systems and usage, trim down Unix files and purge, delete and/or re-size Pick files in an effort to have the overall system run efficiently.

• Responsible for the installation of computer systems, operating systems and upgrades, printers, modems, terminals and LANs as well as be the one who handles escalated support calls for our widely installed customer base when they encounter problems.• A given call can range in severity from a loose cable or power cord on a terminal to a software flaw that is compromising data, inquiry or report integrity to an operating system flaw causing system downtime to an all out system crash.• We isolate what the problem is, escalate the call (if it is warranted), get the right people involved and rectify the situation as soon as possible.• Additional responsibilities include training, maintaining and enhancing the base package as well as support in-house personnel with programming problems and maintain on-site software & hardware.

• Worked with Senior Analysts and followed their specifications to modify both new code for customers as well as the base package code in the Master Distribution System software package.• Support existing client base with software, hardware and training issues.• Go on site periodically to both assist a client with the use of their system modules or fine tune applications for a brand new installation.
