As the Sr. Network Security Architect my daily responsibilities are developing and implementing security policies and procedures. Monitoring network for security breaches and responding to incidents. Performing risk assessments and security audits. Keeping up to date with latest security threats and technologies. Managing firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security tools. Educating employees on security best practices. Ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards, develop and maintain high-level designs for the overall logical and physical network security, including secured, private on premise, enterprise and cloud customer connectivity. In the Security Architect role I am responsible for performing Network Security audits, vulnerability assessment and penetration testing of infrastructure assets, reviewing the design and implementation of all security architecture and SEIM components and map them to the businesses long term vision. Promote best practices for and mitigates risk of scalability & security concerns. Implement, configure, and administer SIEM software including Solar Winds NPM, Splunk, Tripwire, nCircle, Mandiant and Cisco CSM/MARS security tools. Practical experience with perimeter security concepts and infrastructure, including firewalls, VPN concentrators, IDS/IPS and web gateway technologies., configuration, and industry best practices. Proven ability to develop architectures that incorporate high availability, operations supportability and scalability - an end to end perspective. Experienced in conducting proof-of-concept, developing prototyping and building reference models.

As the Sr. Infrastructure / Network Engineer my primary role is to develop and maintain high-level designs and deployment for the overall logical and physical network architecture, including secured, private customer connectivity. As a hands on engineer the primary technology and platforms used in this position IP v4, TCP, UDP Switching - Spanning Tree, Vlans, Trunks, Ether channel, routing BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IP-Sec VPNs - Cisco VPN Concentrators, Object-groups, NATs, ACLs, DMZs, Cisco Routers, Switches, ASA Firewalls, VoIP, IDS/IPS and Palo Alto UTM. Multiple installations of Cisco Wireless Networking using Cisco WAP, Meraki Wireless and Aruba this includes design, security configurations and deployment of Enterprise wireless units on multiple floors, IDF wiring cabinets and data centers. Responsible for assisting in securing consulting services wins in support of Cloud business. Defining cloud architecture, design and implementation plans for hosting complex application workloads on MS Azure and AWS. Architect solutions using AWS or MS Azure PaaS services such as SQL Server, HDInsight, service bus, GSLB etc. Provided technical oversight and guidance during clients engagement execution. Provided Cloud thought leadership through regular publications and speaking engagements. Consult on and provided Cloud Infrastructure technical expertise including strategic design and architectural mentorship, assessments, POCs, etc., in support of the overall sales lifecycle or consulting engagement process. Supported the development and growth of Cloud Services and Consulting Practice including API Management, Security, Cloud-to-Cloud Integration (Public, Private), Windows Azure (Website, webrole and worker roles). Discussions with clients and technical staff to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud. Led Cloud based deployments of databases (SQL Server and MySQL) and relevant web services, mail, backup, and application monitoring.

Responsible for the management and career development of a team 6 Microsoft and network technical consultants. Responsible selection of "best of breed" mission critical hardware, evaluations and recommendations. Directly responsible for maintaining high profile key vendor relationships/project partners in the "Valley" including Microsoft. Interacted at the executive level at all customer sites and led multi-day infrastructure envisioning planning sessions and presentations using Microsoft's Solutions Framework Methodology (MSF). Led the technical planning and implementation sessions. Authored and provided SOW's documented deliverables including designs, project plans, resources and cost for executive sign off. Architectural team Lead on all Microsoft infrastructure projects, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Rapid Economic Justification (REJ) analysis, management planning, implementation and maintenance. Lead architect and engineer in the implemented of 20+ Checkpoint, Cisco and Linux Firewalls for Siemens projects. Led architect on the enterprise network security policies and VPN design and implementations using Cisco, Nortel, Nokia remote access devices, Secure ID cards and tokens for national and multi national networks at WebGain, Verizon, National Semi Conductor, Sega, Excite, Yahoo, Amherst, Greater Bay Bank, Option One, State of California and lots of other smaller Dot.coms.Reason for leaving: Company layoffs due to dramatic drop in outsourced IT services in SiliconValleys dot.com sector

Responsible for the technical maintenance of international co-located technical facilities for mission critical 24/7/365 production and development infrastructure. Responsible for hardware selection, recommendations and key national vendor relationships (including Cisco and Sun). Lead architect for infrastructure planning, implementation and maintenance. Lead engineer in the maintenance of corporate Red Hat Linux 6.2 based DNS, MAIL and DHCP servers. Lead engineer for the configuration and support of enterprise Microsoft test, development and production of 500 Microsoft NT multi-domain servers and supporting over 10,000 seats. Responsible for implementation of proactive network monitoring using HP OpenView 6.2 /NNM and SiteScope for diagnoses of co-located Telco and internetworking services and infrastructure. Maintained key vendor relationships with multi vendor Telco sales and engineer teams. Vendors were carriers PACBELL, AT&T, Sprint, Concert, Global Crossing and MCI. Used Microsoft's MOM to track multi contact projects, internal engineering communications and to report the status of trouble tickets to management. Responsible for proactive capacity planning of testing of network and voice bandwidth loads. Responsible for Telco infrastructure planning, implementation and maintenance. Support of test and production environments between developers, engineers and production servers. Enterprise consisted of co-lo's at Exodus SC1, Exodus SC4 and PAIX, Cisco Access Routers, Cisco Summa Switches, Larsom Orion MUXes, Cisco 5XXX switches, 3XXX routers, F5 Big IPs, and 20 Compaq Server Clusters co-located in three facilities.Reason for leaving: Company wide layoffs after drop in business after Sept 11th 2001 Terrorist Attacks
