On a daily basis, I am tasked with providing refreshments to both external and internal guests in a timely manner and to a high standard of presentation.Along with my daily tasks I am also called upon to service functions and events, where I assist with the setting up of the room, mobile kitchen and bar. I can either lead a small team of waiting staff or be part of a larger waiting staff team, providing the kitchen staff with assistance if needed and coordinating with the Conference and Events office staff to ensure that the guests are having an enjoyable and memorable experience.If needed I am also able to work in any of the other retail outlets on campus, my duties include:• Opening/Closing of a shift.• Cashing up.• Clearing and cleaning at the end of the day.• Pot wash and putting away.• Serving customers in the onsite Starbucks, Refectory Kitchen or the coffee shop Curiositea.• Being the senior member of staff, delegating workflow if/when needed.• Restocking of the outlets fridges, counters and consumable items when required.During a shift, I can be called on to work in any retail location across campus where I deal with internal and external customers, ranging from members of the public to senior academic personnel from the university. This requires me to be versatile and adapt to the situation I am in quickly and confidently, as I can go from serving customers from our Curiositea coffee shop in the morning to running an afternoon tea event, leading a small team to then ending the shift in the Refectory serving customers a wide range of hot and cold beverages and alcohol on the Starbucks counter.
