Operations Coordinator
Current- Managed 17-person joint military attaché team; responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Defense Attaché Office. Advanced U.S. national interests in the face of continually increasing diplomatic turbulence and multiple in-country crises by utilizing open-source resources and highlighting key information to attachés.- Interacted with embassy counterparts in the General Services Office, Facilities Maintenance, Budgeting Office, Human Resource Management section, Office of Defense Cooperation, Political-Military Office, and the Information Resource Management Section to ensure Defense Attaché Office team had the resources and support required to perform individual tasks. - Developed annual budgets for the DAO. Worked closely with Embassy to interpret Department of Defense funding requirements with State Department requirements using ICASS and COAST. Input funding documents for visiting DoD units and completed inter-departmental funding requests for visitors.- Maintained comprehensive office electronic records management system. Reduced hard-copy records to the absolute minimum to comply with the Defense Intelligence Agency Records Management Program. Retired files as necessary to meet the National Archives and Records Administration approved Records Schedule, and DIA instructions.- Represented the DoD and Embassy to the government of Turkey, Turkish General Staff, and military departments. Produced diplomatic notes to acquire U.S. aircraft overflight and landing clearances in Turkish airspace. Coordinated over 3000 aircraft clearances to enable continuing U.S. missions. Secured blanket authorization for routine flights, significantly reducing approval times with the Turkishgovernment.- Led logistical operations for over 50 high-level visits to Turkey. Briefed multi-agency counterparts on shortfalls and DoD requirements for each visit during planning meetings. Identified problems and implemented corrective solutions with planning teams.
