Appointed to the role of Project Manager in 2008. Role included the planning and delivery of track renewals from design /specification at T-50 though to execution and TOC hand back at T+8 weeks. Responsibilities included managing the key stakeholders in each project to ensure that all disciplines were fully aware of the plan and agreeing timescales for each disciplines activities to create a robust programme of works. Managing de-confliction with third parties affecting the renewals possessions. Ordering Trains, materials ,plant and manpower. Controlling and managing safety in line with the ORR requirements and Network Rails standards and investigating incidents when required. Estimating T-40 and T-20 costs and controlling those costs through the delivery stages by identifying the cost impact caused through variances to the plan. I was involved in the early deployment strategy and worked closely with the client to deliver S&C renewals in shorter possession times. I lead the UK's most successful example of this to date which was the installation of 2 CV crossovers at Wool and Wareham during midweek night possession regimes. A first of its type in the Uk the works were shortlisted for the Network Rail Partnership awards in 2013. Spearheaded the improvements required for lift planning during a period when my company had been issued an ORR improvement notice. Instrumental in designing a new lift plan which has been embedded company wide. Instrumental in developing the competency assessments of crane controllers and lift planners within the organisation.
