My practice focuses on international arbitration and complex litigation in areas of the law including contracts, business torts, intellectual property, construction (both onshore and offshore), health care and power generation. I have represented domestic and international clients in state and federal courts around the country and in foreign and domestic arbitral forums.Representative experience includes:• Won dismissal of purported class action seeking damages in excess of $150 million asserting claims arising out acquisition of company traded on foreign exchange. • Representation of foreign entity in multi-party litigation over failed construction project, with each side asserting claims in excess of $100 million. • Representation of foreign individual in proceedings to enforce ICSID arbitration award and judgment • entered on it in excess of $300 million.• Won judgment on the pleadings in dispute over patent license agreement.• Representation of foreign investor in ICC arbitration against foreign state under bilateral investment treaty concerning state’s denial of an application for a concession for the prospection and exploration of minerals.• Representation of U.S. arm of foreign entity in dispute over contract for management of major airport terminal.• Representation of investors in ICSID arbitration under bilateral investment treaty asserting claims arising out of expropriation of assets by foreign state.• Successfully represented foreign refinery in ICC arbitration involving claims of breach of contract and fraud.• Represented Official Committee of Retirees in Detroit bankruptcy.• Obtained a US$34.5 million award in an international arbitration concerning the breach of a joint venture agreement, and defeated a motion to vacate brought subsequently by the respondents. • Represented defendants accused of infringing multiple patents in US District Court; obtained summary judgment of non-infringement for majority of products at issue. • Won summary judgment, subsequently affirmed on appeal, in New Jersey state court on claims alleging breach of contract and tortious interference arising out of an asset acquisition. • Successfully represented an offshore pipeline construction company in a dispute relating to the construction of a 50-mile pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico.• Obtained an arbitration award completely in client’s favor in a dispute concerning a 20-year operation and maintenance contract for a cogeneration facility.
