As a network operations center intern for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I helped manage the worldwide network of the church including Cisco devices, Virtual Machine Servers, Oracle databases, and miscellaneous other devices used to support the organization. I have supported devices on almost every continent and worked with other individuals from many countries to manage the Information Technology needs of the church. I have used software such as SolarWinds, Meraki, ServiceNow, AKIPS, Nagios, and a few other monitoring components. I have also helped manage high-priority incidents such as regional network or power outages and helped to provide a quick and appropriate response to solve those issues with the providers. After which, I participated in retrospective evaluations to see how we could prevent these issues from happening again. As part of my role, I also ran snapshots and backups on various virtual machines and servers. I also frequently used Microsoft remote desktop, VMWare VCenter, and other tools to remotely manage machines across the globe.Our team worked to provide 24/7 coverage to the globe. As such, I have received and fielded many phone calls to provide top-quality customer assistance to those of varying social, economic, cultural, and personal backgrounds.

As part of the information technology team, I helped maintain critical campus computer and network infrastructure for the university. Daily tasks involved both basic and intensive troubleshooting, technological crisis management, working with SLAs (Service Level Agreements), and ticket queue management. I supported over 20,000 on-campus students with their personal technology needs and also helped manage and perform computer deployments for over 1,000 employees and all campus labs and classrooms.I worked as both a student leader, where I would manage a team of 5-10 technicians and also as a trainer where I individually trained technicians and worked with a trainer team to develop assessment material and knowledge bases.
