Deputy Team Lead - Communications, Networking, And Interoperability

-Worked as the deputy team lead responsible for managing the Communications, Networking, and Interoperability teams on the MQ-25 Stingray Integrated Test Team (ITT). -Baselined the test framework for MQ-25 integration into the Navy shore and ship-based communication and network architectures.-Served as the Communications FTE for 4 MQ-25 T-1 prototype flight events, including the first MQ-25 tanking flights with the F/A-18 and E-2D.-Lead architect and mission designer for the development of an Integrated Evaluation Framework (IEF) for the Airborne Systems Training and Research Support (ASTARS) III platform. This IEF serves as a teaching tool for the USNTPS students to incorporate operational testing into their development of DT test plans.-Responded to direct tasking from the Program Manager to investigate surrogate opportunities. Led the team to researching opportunities, developing feasibility studies, and compiling the information into a decision brief. This effort was successfully completed within a very tight timeline (< 1 month).-Was the lead Comms FTE for the Unmanned Carrier Aviation Demonstration (UCAD) test of the T-1 prototype onboard CVN-77. During testing, discovered an interference issue with the control radios that halted testing. Organized and led a Tiger Team of engineers, technicians, and SMEs to investigate the issue with little-to-no reach back to experts on shore. Characterized the issue within a 4-hour window, developed a mitigation plan to resolve the issue and continue testing, and successfully implemented the plan during testing the next day. No additional control issues were noted for the remainder of testing.

Interoperability Flight Test Engineer

-Returned to the Triton ITT and expanded role to include testing of both internal and external network connections and architecting the Mission-Based Test Design (MBTD) framework for the ITT.-Lead architect of the MBTD test strategy for Triton. This work included tracing all Triton Measures/Requirements to Triton overarching mission threads, refining and adding conditions based on previous DT testing, and building vignettes for those mission areas. This required coordination with COMOPTEVFOR, other FTEs, and PMA engineers across the entire Triton program to ensure a robust test design. This effort was considered a CBTE pillar program for NTWL and served as an example for future programs to emulate.-Served as test director for communications and network test events to include Tactical Data Links, LOS, and BLOS data link testing.

This work resulted in the Triton Interoperability Team winning the VX-20 Test Team of the Quarter in June 2016 and the NAWCAD Commander's Award - Team Category for 2017.- Served as the Triton POC for Capabilities-Based Test and Evaluation (CBTE) and was responsible for changing the Triton test strategy to a more mission-aligned approach.- Collaborated with mission analysts to develop the initial Intelligence Mission Test Matrix to trace mission requirements across multiple platforms in specific mission areas.- Worked as a Test Director on the Triton test program and executed 40+ Ground and 25+ Flight tests and was responsible for organizing 10+ functional teams with 25+ personnel internal and external to the Triton ITT.- Served as deputy team lead for the Interoperability test team within 3 months of working on Triton. As deputy team lead, interfaced with senior PMA and ITT leadership both with and without the team lead present, and was responsible for charting and reporting interoperability testing over the course of 5 major software releases.

Assumed single source authority for all airborne EO/IR camera, laser, radar, and Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) testing conducted at YPG.- Monitored and directed numerous test teams consisting of 20+ people in 7+ support sections in order to fulfill test objectives. Trained new test officers, data collectors, data analysts, and target operations personnel on basic sensor testing procedures and data analysis techniques. Developed new training programs and improved existing training programs to ensure all personnel associated with sensor testing are able to seamlessly execute test operations.- Worked with numerous Department of Defense (DoD) and private industry customers to determine safety and security concerns with test items and procedures. Mitigated hazards associated with testing Class I-IV lasers, ordinance, radiation exposure, high altitude aircraft operations, and desert environment.- Coordinated test schedules/processes with stakeholders, test scheduling, and safety offices. Deconflicted test operations with as many as 25 extraneous test programs to ensure test operations could be safely conducted concurrently on the range. Deconflictions occasionally required real-time vectoring of aircraft, requiring constant communication between aircraft pilots and other programs/pilots.- Prepared numerous cost estimates for test operations resulting in upwards of $1 million dollars allocated to YPG.- Analyzed sensor resolution, laser designator, laser rangefinder, target locate, and radar data, and compiled results into final test reports for the Army Evaluation Center (AEC).- Served as the ASET Division Subject Matter Expert (SME) for target reflectance.
