I am fully conversant at programming, setting and operating CNC machinery. I have knowledge of Homag, Weeke, Fanuc, Holzma, and Ima control systems. I am familiar working in a manufacturing environment which is ISO 9001 complacent. I have a sound knowledge of tooling specifications and am able to read and understand engineering technical drawings (Cad/Cam). I am currently a Key Operator and heading a small team in production on one of our core machines. I was selected to travel to Germany and undertake a Homag training course in Machine Operations and Programming.

I spent the majority of my time working as a CNC machinist on a single sided edgebander where i became familiar working with a number of different material such as chipboard, MDF and plastics. I would be responsible for the running and setting of the machine and small maintenance tasks. I worked from technical drawings with tight tolerances. I gained a good knowledge of Biesse and Ima Machines. I undertook a small course in Lean Manufacturing while employed here and gained a great understanding of Manufacturing as a whole.

This role included conducting market research via the telephone and collecting data to input into a simple computer system. I had to learn very quickly to deal with difficult customers as market researchers are not best welcomed. This was very much a target based position and I learnt to work under pressure while simultaneously conducting myself professionally. I took away with me a lot of experience in customer service when I vacated this role.
